　　1、lack 和lack of 分不清

　　lack 作動詞，后面應該要直接跟賓語：如 A number of students lack skills.

　　lack 作名詞，后面應該要加個介詞才行：如 Man can understand the universe but not women. Because man is lack of thatunderstanding. 男人可以了解宇宙卻不能了解女人，因為男人缺乏那種腦細胞。

　　2、benefit 和benefit from 分不清

　　作不及物動詞，benefit from... '從...中受益’.如：Do they get any benefit from this game? 他們能從 游戲中得到什么利益嗎?

　　作及物動詞，benefit 表示 '對...有益’, 如：They are working together to benefit the whole community. 他們在為整個社區的利益共同努力。

　　3、modern 被錯拼成mordern

　　避免單詞拼錯可以記單詞的詞根詞源：來自mode,模式，方式，尺度，-ern,形容詞后綴。引申詞義現存的，最新的模式，現代的。

　　4、outweigh 被錯拼成outweight

　　(out-,超過，weigh,稱重。)

　　The benefits of the scheme outweigh the disadvantages. 這項計劃利大于弊。

　　The advantages of this deal largely outweigh the disadvantages.

　　這筆交易的利遠大于弊。

　　5、potential 被誤寫為potentials

　　· The boy has great potential.

　　這個男孩有很大的潛力?！?The school strives to treat students as individuals and to help each one to achieve their full potential.

　　學校力圖因材施教，并幫助每位學生發揮他們的全部潛能。
